Well, I'm up to March 2002 with tagging posts. Just another seven and a half years to go! 

Given that I have hypersomnia, this task is going to be done over time - I don't have that many hours in the day! 

In sleep disorder related news, I have a disability meeting with my supervisor, my union representative, and human resources tomorrow to determine whether or not the reasonable accommodation I formally requested (the one I'd been granted from my supervisor for the last, um, two and a half years until he decided that my flexible schedule was inconvenient to him) will be approved or not.

I hate what this condition has done to my life.

Hi! I'm new. I've had a mess of sleep problems all my life and just today found out that one of them has a name -- Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome -- albeit a bulky one. Only in the last couple days I learned that it's potentially easily treatable by light therapy (thanks elettaria). A lot of people who get this are blind, but I'm not, and guess I got it because I've had CFS for about 10 years.

So I'm thinking about trying light therapy. Well, I know nothing about light therapy, or what kind of lamp might be best, and the brands available here in Germany seem to be different than those recommended by the English-speaking world. Anyone know anything about Elta, Caremaxx, Medisana, Lumie, or Hydas? Or should I just stick to something expensive from Philips?

A couple other questions....

I'm afraid light therapy might not work, though, because I'm a real night owl, and when the sun comes out I often feel more comfortable closing the blinds and turning on a lamp. Can anyone point me to any resources on what that might be about?

Also, since I've been trying to chart my BBT, I've noticed that my first temps on waking up are about a full celsius degree higher than my 'daytime' temperatures. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around -- anyone know anything about that?

So I was rereading my exciting 20th anniversary edition and I noticed the "hits on the spell test cannot be greater than the spells force" rule.

How does that work with foci and edge?
Let's say I have 5 magic and 5 sorcery.
I cast a manaball at force 5, rolling 10 dice, the max hits cap at 5?

That's hits, right, not net hits?

So, if I roll 10 dice and get 8 hits, and my target rolls their willpower(5) and gets all 5 to resist, the spell fails? I got 8 hits! I got 3 over!

What about foci or edge.
So I cast the same force 5 spell, roll 5 for magic + 5 for sorcery, +3 for the foci and throw in 2 more dice from edge...I'm rolling 15 dice.
No matter what, I'm gonna cap at 5 force - the willpower/counterspelling roll?

What's the point of using foci and stuff to increase the spellcasting roll if hits cap at force?


*I realize overcasting is an option, I just need clarification on the force cap rule.
